About "Friday the 13th"
Friday the 13th challenges players to defend the camp from the serial killer Jason Voorhees. The main goal is to move across the large map, track down the killer, and defeat him before the time limit runs out.
The game includes six playable counselors, each with different speed, jumping, and attack stats. To survive Jason’s attacks, counselors search the cabins for useful weapons such as torches, knives, and axes.
Gameplay alternates between side-scrolling exploration and interior cabin sequences. Players also need to watch counselor health closely, since death causes permanent character loss over the course of the three-day cycle.
Best known for its color-swapped Jason and its non-linear map structure, the game stands as an early and experimental survival horror effort on NES hardware.
