About
Kenyuu Densetsu Yaiba follows the young samurai Yaiba Kurogane as he journeys across Japan, fighting the rival Takeshi Onimaru and his supernatural followers in an effort to bring peace back to the land.
Its gameplay focuses on platforming and close-range combat. Yaiba wields his katana for basic attacks, and gathering elemental orbs temporarily unlocks projectile strikes and area attacks with added power.
The stages move through a range of settings such as forests, caverns, and castles. Progress depends on careful jump timing to clear hazards and on conserving the health gauge through boss battles that unfold in multiple phases.
