About
Pokemon Fluvio is a custom GBA ROM hack decompilation by Tortex60, developed on top of Pokemon Emerald with the modern Pokeemerald-expansion framework. It takes place in the level, polder-filled terrain of the Viridis region, a setting strongly inspired by the real-world Netherlands, where players start out as a field researcher charting old canal paths and lively city centers.
The hack brings in contemporary systems such as Generation 9 moves, abilities, items, and battle mechanics. Its quality-of-life features include a dedicated PokéNav Quest Log, level caps built into the game, animated follower Pokémon in the overworld, a dynamic day and night cycle, an instant move relearner, and EV and IV stats available on demand from the summary screen.
Exploration is expanded with original mechanics like Camper Campsites, where lighting Briquettes draws in roaming trailers that provide stat editing, rare eggs, and custom move tutors. Progression follows the regional Verde Division gym challenge, featuring city stadiums and puzzle-based trials that ultimately lead to required double battles.
The beta version offers about 10 hours of refined play, covering four different gym challenges and the first part of the story centered on the Levellers, a secretive group that threatens the region’s fragile water balance.
