About

About "Trace Memory"

Trace Memory follows 13-year-old Ashley Mizuki Robbins as she arrives on Blood Edward Island in search of her long-lost father. The story focuses on her encounters with a ghost named D, while players uncover pieces of repressed memory through conversations and close observation.

The gameplay is built around point-and-click exploration through the island’s crumbling mansion and the land around it. It makes strong use of the Nintendo DS hardware, asking players to interact with the stylus, blow into the microphone, and even close the system itself to complete certain environmental puzzles.

The game uses a hand-drawn visual style, complemented by static, anime-inspired character portraits during dialogue. Its pacing is intentionally measured, with an emphasis on mood, exploration, and story discovery rather than fast-paced or reflex-driven gameplay.
